Design a Compact Slot-Loaded Microstrip Antenna for Wearable and IoT Applications

A compact microstrip patch antenna is proposed in this paper for 5.8 GHz wearable and IoT applications. The radiating patch is rectangular in shape and has been optimized for impedance matching, return loss, and gain. The gain is 6 dB, and the return loss is −29 dB. The antenna’s overall efficacy is relatively high and well-suited for long-distance communication applications. The compact design is ideal for wearables since the structure will maintain a stable state over the existence of the congested frequency environment, and the simulation results show that this antenna will allow a very efficient communication, thus it would be an excellent choice for the frequency 5.8 GHz to be used in applications for wearables and the Internet of Things.
