Composite materials have been used in a wide range of applications since ancient times. In the past few years back the composites materials composed of synthetic materials/fibers such as carbon and glass fibers have gained much attention due to their extraordinary properties. However, in the present world, it is a crucial necessity to utilize natural fibers form renewable sources in composite development. Animal fibers offer extensive properties which are even comparable with commonly used synthetic fibers. This opens the chance to take advantage of animal fibers in composite manufacturing. In addition to this, huge amounts of animal fibers such as low graded wool, raw silk, feather, and hair fibers are discarded as waste. Exploiting such waste animal fibers offers the opportunity of significant resource recovery from biowaste. This chapter discusses some of the commonly used animal fibers such as wool, hair, silk, and feather fibers for composite production. Various manufacturing methods and the properties of composites materials are briefly described as well. This chapter also focused on the use of recycled animal fibers as potential material for sustainable natural fiber composites. Various methods for recycling of waste are studied and recycling techniques such as mechanical, chemical, and thermal techniques are investigated. It is evaluated in depth regarding positive and negative points of each technique for best selection. Comparison of properties of different composites and their application is investigated in detail and defined in terms of application.
