With the advent of IoT, rapid technological advancements in the realm of smart systems are now the norm. The goal of the IoT is to create a world where it is possible to operate any gadget from afar. The adoption of this strategy may likely increase home safety. As part of this project, we designed a system that would send an email to the property owner as well as any authorized users whenever a human incursion detector observes motion in the region of a door. An Internet of things (IoT) equipped home security system will generally consist of a Raspberry Pi 3 computer, Pi camera, PIR sensor, microphone, and an internet connection. When it detects motion, the system will snap a photo, which it will then upload to a database for subsequent analysis to identify whether the person or entity in the image is a recognized one. If neither the user nor any other registered members identify the person, the system will send an email to the user with a photo, video, and audio recording of the unknown person. If the system is successful in identifying the individual, a photo of them will be taken and added to the database. If the system finds any activity that is out of the norm in the neighborhood of the door, it will inform the user by email. The design of the solution safeguards the IoT platform against unwanted access.
