MXenes are advanced two-dimensional layered structural materials comprising transition metal carbides, nitrides, or carbonitrides. Its remarkable physical properties, such as excellent electrical conductivity, outstanding mechanical strength, high surface area, and exceptional active surface tunability, make it a coveted material for various applications such as energy storage, sensors, catalysis, water purification, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, as well as microwave absorption technology. This chapter primarily focuses on the synthesis of MXene-based electromagnetic wave-absorbing materials and their application for shielding capabilities. Additionally, it explores the challenges and opportunities associated with MXene and its derivatives for EMI shielding applications.
