This chapter introduces the fundamentals of RIS-aided intelligent MEC and sensing as well as their integration in next-generation communication system. The first section discusses MEC, where it decentralizes computational resources to the network edge, minimizing latency and enabling real-time data processing. The second section introduces the background and definition of integrated MEC and sensing, the benefits of integration, use cases and challenges. The final section introduces the RIS hardware structure and reflection model, including narrowband two-dimension reflection model and wideband three-dimension reflection model.
