Harmony in the Sui, Tang, and Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period (581–979 CE)

The Sui and Tang Dynasties were a golden age for Chinese civilization. Overall, China was politically stable, the economy and culture flourished, and its people were united during this period of glory and brilliance. The Zhenguan era was an iconic time of peace and prosperity as it was people-centered, paying equal respect to all ethnic groups. Also, exploration of the Imperial Examination system began, initiating a new concept for selecting civil officials, which exhibited China’s capacity to continue with convention while adopting innovation. The Tang Dynasty was a time of inclusion and convergence.
