This paper represents a sequence from an extensive study focused on the analysis of work activities and conditions in different departments of a national TV company with the purpose of identifying occupational risks and workloads and their reflection in the state of health and safety of the employees. This paper refers specifically to the technical department of the broadcasting. A complex, ergonomic methodology was used, including: technical-organizational and psychophysiological analysis of activities and their conditions, identification of occupational risk factors and workloads and their effect on workers’ physical and mental health including peaks of morbidity, analysis of work related stress. The activity is characterized by time pressure, work in shifts, live activity, work on weekends and holidays, limited control, high standards and work efficiency, working long hours. Factors of neuropsychic demands and stress were highlighted, at medium level in most routine situations and high in the case of peak mobilization carried out in more special conditions, of increased difficulty and responsibility. From the nature, content and conditions of the activity, neuropsychic, visual, musculoskeletal overloads were highlighted. The most prevalent types of disorders encountered were: ophthalmologic, cardiovascular, metabolic, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal disorders. The study highlighted the necessity of taking the appropriate measures for ensuring wellbeing at work and optimizing work productivity.
