An Approach to the Innovation of Payment Tools Through Eliminating Cognitive Friction
摘要
Innovations from different fields have resulted in non-stop improvements in line with the technological advancement of this world. While electronic products take over mechanical products, points of friction are seen in the lived experiences of people using everyday Fintech products. Moreover, current fintech products lack flexibility. Interviews were conducted in order to understand the struggles of people in the current designs of payment tools to know the needs of the people. An empathy map was created to understand the problem better. House of Quality 1 was used to translate the customer requirements to technical requirements. House of Quality 2 was used to translate the specifications of the product in quantitative terms. The dimension of product, ejection of cards, and button mechanism are some of the most important technical specifications that need to be prioritized in designing Fintech products. Product designers may use this study as a basis on designing payment tools.
