Literary Region

The research of literary regions makes up a significant part of literary geography, and is also one of the researches that best present the uniqueness of literary geography. The Dictionary of Human Geography compiled by the British scholar R. J. Johnston (1994, pp. 221–222) thus defines the entry under “Geography”: “At least three characteristics can be readily identified. The first characteristic is an emphasis on location. Geography is concerned with the locational or spatial variation in both physical and human phenomena at the Earth’s surface.
