With fast-moving technology, it has become a whole lot easier to reproduce forged certifications and degrees that are almost indistinguishable from original ones, which has made the process of verifying these documents by an employer or institution very difficult. Verification, aside from being costly, is also rather time-consuming because it involves multiple steps due to using centralized systems. 摘要

With fast-moving technology, it has become a whole lot easier to reproduce forged certifications and degrees that are almost indistinguishable from original ones, which has made the process of verifying these documents by an employer or institution very difficult. This state of affairs is even a bigger threat to the entire issue of trusting educational and professional qualifications. Verification, aside from being costly, is also rather time-consuming because it involves multiple steps due to using centralized systems. Most of these systems involve manual checks, coordination between several parties, and delays due to multiple approvals-a process which is inefficient and very prone to errors. Addressing the challenges requires the introduction of blockchain-based identity management. This work presents a blockchain-based identity management approach for the Complete Verification of Credentials. The proposed system, by storing and sharing electronic documents on a common blockchain platform, ensures immutability of data, reduction of costs by cutting off intermediaries, and real-time verification in a transparent manner. By doing so, individuals retain ownership of their information, hence increased privacy and security. The fraud-free nature of blockchain and the global standardization of this verification process for institutions make the latter more seamless and trusted globally. Some of the different kinds of stakeholders who are part of the network: Students, Employers, Educational Institutions, Verification Agencies.
