Cloud computing shifts hardware and software resources from local premises to the network. Host overload can lead to SLA violations and performance degradation, while underload results in inefficient resource use and excess energy consumption. Server consolidation, or Dynamic VM Consolidation, effectively addresses both overload and underload by using VM migration. Overloaded VMs are migrated to balance the load, while underloaded VMs are moved to optimize resource usage and reduce energy consumption in Cloud Data Centers (CDC). Solutions for server consolidation must answer three key questions: (i) when to migrate VMs? (ii) which VMs to migrate? (iii) where to migrate VMs? This work aims to provide effective solutions to these challenges. For validation and verification of proposed approach CloudSim simulator is used and extended. From results, it is noticed that proposed framework achieves significant performance improvement.

摘要
