This paper introduces an innovative gamified online learning platform designed to address the communication and educational challenges faced by deaf and hearing students in India, with a focus on Indian Sign Language (ISL). The platform aligns with the Indian National Education Policy’s emphasis on inclusive education and bridges gaps in ISL education caused by regional variations, limited vocabulary, and the dual challenge of learning ISL syntax alongside English grammar. Grounded in Krashen’s input hypothesis and Chomsky’s Universal Grammar, it fosters natural language acquisition through scaffolded and interactive methods. The key features include drag-and-drop sentence-making exercises, color-coded grammar cues, and “mistake-free” modules that gently redirect incorrect answers, reducing learner anxiety. Real-life scenarios such as food, health, and family provide practical learning contexts, whereas interactive videos and assessments with personalized feedback enhance engagement and retention. Despite challenges such as the evolving ISL dictionary and abstract concept visualization, the platform adapts to available vocabulary and prioritizes user-friendly design. Future plans include integrating AI-driven sign language recognition to monitor signing accuracy and expanding the curriculum to cover cultural and economic topics. With its multilingual “reading library” and interactive features, the platform aims to empower deaf students, enhance ISL literacy, and foster mutual understanding between deaf and hearing communities. By bridging communication gaps and redefining educational opportunities, this study sets a new benchmark for ISL education and inclusivity in India.

摘要
