Around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic upended established educational structures, causing a swift transition to digital learning resources. The ability to continue learning despite lockdowns and social distancing techniques made mobile learning (M-learning) one of these essential tools. The usage of mobile devices for education is specifically and widely referred to as M-learning. M-learning is a double-edged sword as it entails benefits and challenges. However, it is noteworthy that M-learning made learning possible in the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic regardless of challenges. The review study aimed to investigate how mobile learning arose during the pandemic and its benefits, obstacles, and potential long-term implications. The educational opportunities available through M-learning inspired the review study. The findings show that the main challenges include small mobile device screens, inadequate infrastructure, limited mobile data and connectivity, and high equipment costs. However, the following were identified as the benefits of M-learning in education. enhanced students’ learning outcomes and critical thinking abilities. In another study, mobile devices as a teaching tool enhanced three abilities: communication, self-confidence, and motivation. The study strongly advocates for the urgent acceleration of course development and integration of mobile learning delivery methods to enhance accessibility and engagement.
