In an intelligent communication system (ITS), a new technology is being developed to develop a cost-effective and flexible deployment of the devices, namely mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). This technology has the maximum potential to provide a network architecture that is able to implement a huge number of critical applications. The special qualities of mobile communication are that it is an infrastructure-less network model with no centralized authority. Due to its mobile nature, certain drawbacks occur in the network at the time of data transmission, such as high power consumption and network delay. Mainly to enhance the device performance and to end the earlier drawbacks in this article, an efficient resource allocation with cluster-based routing (ERCRM) is developed among mobile devices. Initially, a cluster-based routing model is developed among the devices to decrease the routing overhead and power utilization at the time of data transmission in the multi-hop network. Secondly, an efficient resource allocation process is carried out among the devices so that the data control and effective monitoring of the vehicles are improved, which leads to the achievement of maximum performance at the time of communication. The fundamental performance of the ERCRM is calculated using version 3 of the network simulator (NS3), which includes performance metrics such as network throughput, network delay, transmission accuracy, energy efficiency, and routing overhead. As a result of this numerical analysis, it is verified that the ERCRM’s efficiency is improved when evaluated and compared with the recent models.

摘要
