Nanoparticles are synthesized using various physical and chemical methods. Emulsion technique is popular especially in liquid phase nanoparticle synthesis. Depending on the energy requirement, nanoemulsion techniques can be categorized under high-energy and low-energy techniques. Ultrasonication, homogenization, and mechanical stirring are some of the high-energy techniques which can be fit for large scale industrial manufacturing compared to low-energy techniques such as phase inversion and self-emulsification. However, energetically cost-effective low-energy methods need attention to enhance safety and thereby apply in major industries like the pharmaceutical industry.

摘要
