Amidst the rise of the hashtag “just run away” due to disappointment with the political and social conditions in Indonesia, the story of the Head of Sukamulya Village, Purwadadi District, Ciamis Regency, West JavaJava, Dodi Romdani, who decided to resign from his position in 2024 with the reason that he chose to return to being a migrant worker in Japan, has become popular in the Indonesian media. This decision was not without reason. Dodi, who had previously worked in Japan, received an offer to return from his former workplace. After officially resigning from his position, Dodi immediately left for Japan in 2024 to start his new job. Dodi has served as the village head for almost 6 years. In fact, with the latest regulation extending the term of office of the village head to 8 years, he should still have 2 years left in his term of office.
