The Japan Revitalization Strategy, issued by the government in 2013, signaled a dramatic shift in Japanese corporate practices toward diversity and inclusion. According to this strategy, the Japanese government believes that developing a diverse workplace and improving employment possibilities for women and the elderly are critical. In addition, the policy was amended to encourage workplace inclusion for women, the elderly, international workers, and people with disabilities (Alcantara & Shinohara, 2023).
