Land-Based Spirituality as Climate Resilience in Manipuri Indigenous Communities
摘要
This chapter explores the transformative role of land-based spirituality in addressing climate resilience within Manipuri Indigenous communities. The primary goal is to illustrate how spiritual, cultural, and ecological practices sustain community well-being while offering a critique of mainstream Western environmental management. The chapter begins with an introduction highlighting the limitations of Western approaches, followed by findings emphasizing Indigenous practices. Themes such as sacred connections to land, rituals, and observations of climate change are discussed in depth, demonstrating their practical and spiritual relevance. Strategies for preserving Indigenous knowledge systems and cultural adaptation conclude the chapter, offering actionable insights for integrating these practices into broader environmental policies. This work aims to inspire global recognition of Indigenous contributions to sustainability and climate justice.
