The idea of organizational citizenship behavior, or OCBC, is examined in this chapter in relation to human services organizations. It starts with a definition of human service organizations, highlighting their emphasis on improving human welfare and setting them apart from other kinds of organizations. The chapter then discusses the importance of OCB in human services contexts, referencing studies that show how it improves customer satisfaction, team productivity, employee performance, and overall organizational effectiveness. It looks at how OCB is applied in particular human services industries like healthcare, banking, and education, showing how discretionary actions support the provision of high-quality services, productive workplaces, and the accomplishment of corporate objectives. It is also emphasized that how crucial it is to develop an OCB culture in human services organizations in order to promote employee engagement, enhance results, and guarantee the long-term viability of these crucial establishments.
