This research focuses on utilizing treated Napier grass stalk fibers, bonded with NaOH and epoxy resins, as an alternative to traditional fiberboards. The preparation of samples involves crushing Napier grass stalk fibers with a hammer, water retting, sun drying, treating with NaOH, and cutting of fibers. The Napier stalk fibers and epoxy resins were mixed and molded according to different ratios (25%:75%, 50%:50%, and 75%:25%) based on ASTM standard. Water absorption and flexural strength tests are conducted to evaluate moisture capacity, strength as well as its density. The results, analyzed using One-way ANOVA and Post-hoc Tukey HSD Test, indicate that the flexural strength of the 25%NG:75%EP mixture is not significantly different from commercial fiberboard and has an average density of 949.5 kg/m3 and has least water absorption. This concludes that it can serve as a viable alternative to the commercial fiberboard.

摘要
