The direct and indirect stresses from overfishing and unsustainable coastal development, particularly affecting seagrasses and mangroves, heighten ocean sensitivity. Nevertheless, given such a hopeful vision, all hope is not extinguished, as numerous methods exist to construct a PowerPoint presentation that does not adversely affect the audience’s general morale. Global conservation activities, including establishing Marine Protected Areas, artificial reefs, and habitat restoration programs, are beginning to produce modest outcomes.
