Human Factors and Ergonomics in Patient Safety: Topics and Areas of Interest Among Healthcare Practitioners in Antioquia, Colombia
摘要
Human Factors and Ergonomics (HF/E) is crucial in improving patient safety within healthcare institutions. This study identified the most relevant topics and key areas related to HF/E and patient safety in Colombian healthcare settings. A survey was conducted among 117 public healthcare institutions in Antioquia, Colombia. Sixty-five healthcare professionals from 54 institutions responded to the questionnaire. The top-rated research topics included occupational health and safety culture, human errors in decision-making, and analysis of adverse events and safety incidents. Emergency rooms, hospitalization, and nursing were identified as the most critical areas for applying the HF/E principles. These findings will inform future strategies for raising awareness, education, and research on HF/E and patient safety in Colombia.
