Computer simulation is effective for investigating team cognition, as it enables a significant amount of quantitative data to be acquired under diverse conditions with minimal effort. Nevertheless, the cognitive models currently employed in computer simulation are not suitable for reproducing team cognitive process. Hence, this study is performed to develop a method for numerically modeling the cognitive process of teams. First, we present the foundation of a computer simulation model (a normative model). Subsequently, we design and conduct experiments to obtain the data necessary for a descriptive model. Finally, we specify some of the parameters and rules for the descriptive model using experimental data. The results are expected to aid the development of a model for simulating team cognition, which will consequently facilitate the study of team cognition.
