Small villages play an important role in promoting social cohesion while implementing national and regional policies in small contexts where only a small number of people live. However, small villages are rarely seen as key places for inclusive lifestyles, though many people are choosing them as livable places where to live. Smart systems of inclusive solutions can empower local inhabitants to live better and inclusively. This work describes the methodological setting and the early design results of LectoDesign, a research project made in a small village of the Abruzzi Region in Italy. The aim of the project was to engage with local citizens and stakeholders to promote local enhancement through the design of inclusive systems of solutions made by enabling services, inclusive products, and accessible communication. Research methodologies and initial concept designs are discussed against different research stages to show the potentialities of results achieved in relation to different procedural approaches. Finally, recommendations for scalable replications will be discussed, along with notes for the development of inclusive interventions.
