Enhanced Safety and Connectivity: Exploring IoT-Integrated Smart Helmet Systems
摘要
In today’s world, motorcycle accidents remain a major safety concern, often leading to severe injuries or fatalities due to delayed emergency response and inadequate protective measures. This paper explores the conceptual framework of a Smart Helmet, an IoT-enabled safety solution designed to enhance rider protection through real-time monitoring and automated distress communication. The proposed system integrates GPS tracking to monitor the rider’s location and enable navigation while also serving as a crucial safety measure in emergency situations. Additionally, shock and impact sensors embedded in the helmet are envisioned to detect collisions and automatically trigger an emergency alert system, notifying predefined contacts or emergency services. By leveraging IoT connectivity, this Smart Helmet aims to establish a proactive and data-driven approach to motorcycle safety, reducing accident response times and enhancing overall road security. This study provides an analytical perspective on the feasibility, potential impact, and future scope of IoT-integrated smart wearables in improving rider safety and emergency response mechanisms.
