摘要

This study is inspired by the famous words of Dr. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, the first democratic president of South Africa: “Freedom cannot be achieved unless women have been emancipated from all forms of oppression….” For women to escape marginalization, the opportunity to participate in various productive businesses via information and communication technology (ICT) can be essential. Realizing the full promise of artificial intelligence (AI) requires tackling the economic, cultural, and technological obstacles preventing women from utilizing these developments. A key idea in the fight for social justice and gender equality is women’s empowerment. It includes the process by which women take charge of their lives, seize opportunities, and stand up for their rights in a variety of contexts. This review aims to explore the potential of AI’s role in emancipating women from oppression domains such as economic opportunities, lack of education access, well-being, and gender-based violence (GBV). AI is becoming more widely acknowledged as a game-changing instrument for improving women’s involvement in a variety of fields, such as business, technology, and education. The findings show that AI can emancipate women from economic access barriers, well-being, gender-based violence, and lack of education. The study suggests that women should be educated on how AI can emancipate them from oppression.
