Developing Sustainable Bricks from Concrete Cube Waste: A Circular Approach to Managing Construction Waste
摘要
The building and construction industry has traditionally had a significant environmental impact, but it is now shifting towards more sustainable and circular practices. This research aligns with the industry’s move towards sustainability by using concrete waste as the main raw material for brick production. This approach not only reduces the environmental damage caused by concrete disposal but also transforms waste into a valuable resource. For this, two different mixes were prepared with varying proportions of concrete cube waste by crushing the cubes into fine aggregates, passing through a 4.75 mm sieve. Compression strength tests were conducted at 7 and 28 days, and water absorption tests were performed. The results were then compared to those of conventional bricks.
