Hutama Karya, a leading construction company in Indonesia, works on various projects, some of which fall into the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) category. EPC project work goes through complex stages, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction. One of them is the Tuban EPC Jetty Project which includes upgrading existing industrial factory facilities to optimize bulk cement production and distribution. This project covers various engineering disciplines including civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and instrumentation which are interrelated, meaning changes in one field can have an impact on other fields. In addition, integrating new systems with existing systems is crucial as this will expand existing plant projects. Due to the complexity of the project, parallel execution of tasks in each discipline can lead to time constraints, requiring careful planning and coordination to avoid inefficiencies. This study explores strategies for how BIM and digital construction improve project efficiency. Digital construction helps with the engineering phase, identifying problems early to minimize rework during construction. BIM tools visualize projects and support decision-making, optimizing waste reduction. Integrating automation in EPC projects in an interconnected construction ecosystem improves data accuracy, simplifies processes, and facilitates real-time collaborative information exchange. This shows how the use of BIM can increase project efficiency and is in line with lean management principles.
