The Lematang–Panjang Port Toll Road Project, which is part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road network managed by PT Hutama Karya, spans 11 km, using Building Information Modeling (BIM) in its planning stage. The main challenge of this project is the very short work timeline with a large number of buildings. To overcome these obstacles, automation of work processes is important to reduce repetitive work. This study focuses on increasing efficiency by comparing the manual process using the in-place model with the automated process using BIM library objects, which simplify model creation and enable automatic updates through parameter adjustments, resulting in accelerated 3D model production with a time efficiency increase of 64.9%. In addition, considering that 1853 km of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road still needs to be built, this BIM library will not only streamline the design process and ensure conflict-free output, but will also function as a Big Database to connect all data for the Toll Road Project in Sumatra and support the design process in subsequent projects, improve consistency and efficiency across the network, and support sustainability from the beginning of the project to the operation and maintenance phase.
