Natural ecosystems are under increasing pressure due to the shifting global economy, increasing urbanization, natural disasters, and climate change. Blue-Green Infrastructure (BGI) is a collection of nature-based techniques integrating hydrological functions (blue) and vegetated landscapes (green), which offers resilience to climate change and urban multi-functionality. Managing more frequent and intense rainfall events, drier summers, faster urbanization, and fewer public green spaces are global challenges that contribute to water-related issues like flooding, water scarcity, overexploitation of groundwater, water pollution, inefficient drainage systems, and waste of rainwater in urban areas. This chapter will discuss on the global actions for climate-resilient sustainable BGI to overcome the challenges in rapidly urbanized cities.

摘要
