摘要
Berth is an offshore structure supported by piles built to handle the cargo from the vessels. Marine pile construction is a critical process when compared to land piles and selection of the techniques for the execution of piles is very important. In this paper, a case study of Construction piles of a Berth at Cuddalore Port, Tamil Nādu is discussed. The two fishing berths of 120 m length supported on 96 number of 1000 mm diameter bored cast in situ piles was constructed using end on method. End on method is a method in which a movable steel platform is mounted on temporary piles, this platform will move forward on completing each row of piles. The end-on piling method is a popular method of piling preferred when the works of repetitive nature is executed. Steel gantry platform is mounted with machineries and equipment’s required for the piling. There is faster completion of work when end on method is used.
