Data-driven cyber physical systems (DDCPS) represent a complex network paradigm that enables the seamless integration of physical systems and information systems. Critical to the operation of these systems is the data storage aspect, which can be classified through different perspectives, including storage medium, location, scale, and performance. Effective data storage solutions are essential to ensure the real-time responsiveness, robustness, and efficiency of DDCPS, especially given the need to process large amounts of data ranging from sensor readings to machine learning models. Starting from the data storage of CPS, this chapter discusses the types of data storage solutions suitable for CPS. The classification of data storage types is further discussed, and an example of data storage application in DDCPS is provided. By exploring the above, this chapter in a comprehensive understanding of the role of data storage in DDCPS, thereby facilitating the development of these systems in various fields.
