Numerical Investigation of the Response of a Cushioned Disconnected Piled Raft System
摘要
The utilization of the disconnected piled raft (DPR) system for the foundations of various geotechnical constructions has gained popularity in recent years. This paper numerically investigates the behaviour of a vertically loaded disconnected piled raft system and compares the same with the response of a connected piled raft (CPR) system for a better understanding of the behavioural difference between these two. A finite element-based package PLAXIS 3D is used for the present analyses. The results show that the piles in DPR possess lower axial load and zero bending moment at the pile head as compared to the piles in a CPR. Moreover, in DPR, due to higher soil displacement than the piles in shallow depth, negative skin friction is observed to prevail in the upper part of the disconnected piles.
