The present chapter is an attempt to simplify the whole process of being able to read a scan and presume that the reader already possesses sufficient anatomical knowledge of the temporal bone. This chapter is discussed under various segments which include definition, history and development, different planes of computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging.
