This précis notes escalating interest in “deglobalization,” a movement that owes to the backlash against globalization. All the same, the précis argues that globalization and deglobalization are work-in-progress and that consideration of the movements need not play one against the either. Considering the challenges the world faces, the précis suggests that deglobalization had best be treated as part of globalization’s evolution, with implications for the solving of public problems, the restoration of trust, and the improved conduct of public diplomacyDiplomacy.
