A Decentralized Application for Secure Authentication and Communication in Industry 4.0 Networks
摘要
Industry 4.0 networks are crucial to maximize profitability, optimize processes, and accelerate demand. Internet of Production (IoP) is the networked environment within Industry 4.0 paradigm, focusing on connecting production assets through advanced communication networks. In IoP, stakeholders can communicate with each other when required to share information about the products they send and receive in the supply chain. A secure authentication mechanism is required in this new concept to make safe communication, where stakeholders of a separate supply chain communicate with each other. This research paper presents a decentralized application (DApp) for stakeholders of the IoP. The proposed protocol provides tamper-resistant records, secured data transfer, and peer verification between stakeholders. The performance analysis of the proposed protocol shows its supremacy over three other related protocols under varied situations with a superiority score range of 50.84 to 454. The security analysis using the well-known tool Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications (AVISPA) demonstrates that the offered scheme is free from replay and man-in-the-middle attacks. Performance analysis shows that it outperforms other related schemes.
