摘要

Since the 1970s, urban decision makers in several countries have experienced with public policies to increase social integration, particularly via interventions in the housing mix, so as to tackle poverty concentration and socio-spatial segregation in urban areas. The theoretical assumption—from housing mix to better individual outcomes, is at the heart of the ongoing housing mix policies and practices in most countries. Through joint efforts of policymakers and practitioners, an array of policy discourses and practical programs of housing mix has been designed and implemented both in western countries and in China. Internationally, housing mix policies in the United State and in three typical European countries (the UK, France, and Sweden) are described. In the Chinese context, the Peijian policy and the Shenzhen case are mentioned as the representative.
