Stability Analysis of Transmission Tower Foundation in Slope
摘要
Landslides and foundation failures are common in sloped areas, presenting severe risks for transmission towers. Failure of the transmission tower due to foundation can lead to short-circuiting and catastrophic outages. The stability of tower foundations depends on foundation depth, soil properties, setback distance, slope angle and slope height. Three different numerical model were created using topographical survey data, DCPT values and laboratory test results. Numerical analyses were performed with the Slide program to assess three different types of slope tower locations under dry and seismic condition. This paper compares the factor of safety for various setback distance and slope angle and use of cantilever concrete retaining wall and soil nail as protection method. The study demonstrates that the setback distance of the tower foundation from slope significantly influence factor of safety. Proper site selection is crucial for minimizing the cost of slope protection measures.
