Metrology being a vital part for any international trade and quality infrastructure. But at the same time metrology field faces various challenges in these developments. This paper discussed about the challenges and potential future role of metrology in the digital age, such as metrological principles for data and algorithm confidence, the use of cyber-physical systems, and the role of metrology in the digital transformation of quality infrastructure.
