Supply chain management (SCM) is essential for industries in today’s competitive market to achieve profitability. Despite its importance, there is limited research on SCM challenges in the industrial sector, particularly in India. This study aims to identify and analyze key supply chain issues faced by the Indian manufacturing industry that hinder its ability to gain a competitive advantage. To address these issues, this research adopts the analytical hierarchy process (AHP), a decision-making methodology that employs pairwise comparisons to systematically evaluate and prioritize multiple criteria. Key factors such as product quality, time management, process variety, and customization are explored, as they are intrinsically linked to the manufacturing sector's competitive edge. Furthermore, this paper reviews methodologies utilized in other manufacturing sectors over the past year to address similar SCM challenges, offering a comparative perspective on potential solutions for Indian manufacturers.
