Effect of Bed Roughness and Flume Slope on Specific Energy Ratio of Hydraulic Jump: An Experimental Investigation
摘要
In this investigation, a rapidly varied flow configuration with three different surface roughness differed from 10 to 30 mm at different bed slopes varied from 0° to 6° was used. The Reynolds number and the Froude number both varied during the experimentation from 4540 to 24,350 and 2.45 to 8.65, respectively. Considering the Reynolds number, an empirical correlation for specific energy ratio is developed. As compared to the classical jump, the specific energy ratio rises by 9.77% at the 6° channel slope and it also increases by 10.97% with a rise in the roughness of the flume from 0 to 30 mm.
