Neurocognitive disorders, including mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), are characterized by a decline in cognitive functions from previously higher levels. The complex and multifactorial etiologies of these disorders pose substantial obstacles to cognitive enhancement. Noninvasive neurostimulation methods, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), have emerged as promising therapeutic strategies. Despite numerous clinical trials, results remain inconsistent, and a consensus is still lacking. This chapter provides a thorough review of the latest developments in TMS and tDCS interventions for neurocognitive disorders, aiming to inform the advancement of novel treatment approaches.
