Bending Strength Analysis into the Welded Joint Between Stainless Steel and Inconel Alloy
摘要
This research investigated the bending strength and microstructure into the welded joints made between SS 304 and Inconel 718. The microstructure was observed through optical microscopy in the welded joints of IN-IN, IN-SS, and SS-SS plates. The presence of γ phase was observed in the welded zones of all three joints, with distinct boundaries. The presence of dendrites and solidified grain boundaries in IN-SS welded joint has increased the bending strength of this joint as compared to plain SS-SS plate. In this way, the feasibility of welded joint between stainless steel and Inconel has been investigated in this work with respect to the bending strength and microstructural attributes of the welded joint.
