Nanopesticides are nowadays used in agricultural sector at a very fast rate. Their unique properties like small size and bigger surface area, made them more reactive and offers various benefits when compared to non-nanoformulations. However, various harmful environmental and health issues came into existence due to increased production and rapid application, majorly because of the development of new engineered nanoparticles (NPs) for pests’ control. Although very less study has been done with respect to this issue, so, it is very important to examine all formulated nanopesticides from an agro-ecological point of view. In this paper, we outlined the application of nanopesticides in agriculture for plant protection from pests and benefits of using nanopesticides in agricultural sector. Also, the expected adverse effects of nanopesticides used in agricultural fields, on soil health, aquatic organisms, crop plants, and human health, were comprehensively reviewed.
