Transportation is critical to the growth of the city. With huge developments in the past few years, the country's metro transportation network has expanded swiftly and can provide passengers with reliable transportation options. Government of Madhya Pradesh has also taken up the implementation of the Metro Rail system phase one. The study aims to discover the factors that impact the use of feeder services, and to develop a Model for Demand Assessment of Feeder services for Complementing Metro Ridership along the proposed metro corridor in Bhopal, India. Eight major factors influencing the demand of feeder services were shortlisted through literature review, expert opinion, and user opinion survey. The model has been developed using linear regression analysis of 400 responses on SPSS. The study aims to understand existing travel patterns, as well as their interconnections and identify the gap in connectivity between existing routes and metro transit routes. The model has been used to propose feeder routes depending on passenger demand within the catchment of metro using GIS as a tool.
