The minor fruit crops of India have special prospects for production and usages, satisfying the demands of health-conscious consumers and bringing financial advantages to rural communities. Small fruits are nutrient-dense, with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and polyphenols that are good for human health. They can also help with food security, nutrition, health, generating revenue, and the environment. These minor fruits provide essential nutrients and can be utilized not only as fresh fruit but also in cooking and medicine. Some of them are extremely decorative. Many of these minor fruits provide a supplementary revenue stream for the nearby tribal community and rural populace. These fruits, which are abundant in nutrients and have therapeutic qualities, are essential to the diet and way of life of tribal and rural communities. Suitable postharvest technologies can be employed for commercialization of these crops.
