Hybrid electric fuel cell (FC) all-terrain vehicle prototype has been created for peat soft terrain with usual ground pressures between 7 and 8 kN/m2. For the best fuel efficiency and fuel cell longevity, the vehicle's power system uses a 60 V, 3.6 kW FC with 500 g of hydrogen and a 60 V, 5.2kWh LiFe3PO4 battery coupled in parallel with the DC/DC converter. Power is switched from FC to battery for traction and from battery to FC to maintain high vehicle speed using an adaptive neuro-fuzzy intelligence system (ANFIS). This vehicle can go 31 km with its FC hybrid driveline.
