Electric Vehicle and Environment
摘要
Around 14 million electric vehicles were sold globally, according to the IEA, a 35% increase from 2022. In 2023, there were 40 million electric vehicle, a 110% rise from 2022, and it looks like this trend will continue in 2024. The goal of the CEM's Electric Vehicles Initiative (EVI) was to achieve a 30% sales share for EVs by 2030 in order to minimize carbon dioxide emissions from the environment. The EV30@30 campaign reframed this target. According to estimates, a gasoline-powered automobile emits about 218 g of CO2 per kilometer driven during its lifetime, compared to about 161 g for hybrid and plug-in hybrid cars and about 126 g for purely battery-electric cars. Power generation and the development of lithium batteries are necessary for this.
