China, a major maritime country, borders on the vast Pacific Ocean, with four linked adjacent seas, namely, the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea, and the South China Sea. A winding curve, demarcating the boundary between land and sea, forms China’s coastline. It begins at the Yalu River estuary in Liaoning province, and stretches southwards to the mouth of the Beicang River in Guangxi province.
