New Technology for Detoxification of Chromium Residue
摘要
Chromium slag, a byproduct of chromium salt production, contains highly toxic and water-soluble Cr⁶⁺, posing severe environmental and health hazards. Traditional detoxification methods are often complex, costly, and insufficiently effective. A novel technology employing reducing metallurgical slag has been experimentally studied, demonstrating excellent detoxification efficiency, simplified operation, and significantly reduced costs. The resulting detoxified slag is rendered harmless and can be repurposed for manufacturing construction bricks. Extensive testing of these bricks under various environmental conditions confirms their safety and compliance with national standards, ensuring no toxic effects during use.
